Los Gatos was an Argentine rock band coming from the previous "Los gatos salvajes". They started in 1967 reaching a 50-songs book. They currently played at La Cueva, a Buenos Aires rock corner bar. Their first simple was "La balsa/Ayer nomás", an unexpected success recorded the July 3, 1967, selling 200.000 copies. La balsa is a song writen by José Alberto Iglesias (Tanguito, or Ramses VII), and Litto Nebbia the May 2, 1967 at midnight. This song is considered as the one who started the Argentine rock, and view by Rolling Stone journal and MTV as the best Argentine rock song of all times.
