LOS T.N.T. - TU LOCA JUVENTUD

TNT was a words-play between the explosive and the initials of Tim, Nelly and Tony, the members of this great trio. Edelweiss "Tim" Croatto, born in 1936, and his brothers Hermes "Tony" (1939) and Argentina "Nelly" (1941), natives of Udine, in 1953 settled with his family in Montevideo, where they began to sing. They were discovered and hired in 1960 by RCA, in their search for young stars which also included Rocky Pontoni, Violeta Rivas, Marty Cosens, Louis Bastian and others. Their first recording for RCA was the song "Eso" (That), by brothers Virgil and Homer Exposito, known composers of tango. According with their name, the song produced an explosion. In few days, the issue sold over 100,000 albums in Argentina, apart from being successful in Mexico and most of South America.

Television debut in Channel 9 opening show, generating a lot of positive comments about their vocal harmonization and natural sympathy. When a few days later made their first appearance on Radio Belgrano was amazing the amount of people who attended, far exceeding the capacity of the auditorium of the station. Followed performances in major clubs in Buenos Aires and in a musical revue that was presented at the Teatro Nacional.

Their first LP was "The Fabulous TNT", appeared in late 1960, where in addition to "Eso" included other hits like "Es", "Dos caras tiene la luna", "A Buenos Aires", "Blue Night", and "Canción de amor." Another big hit was their cover of "The Espumita", by Carlos Argentino, used for the propaganda of the beer Quilmes. It was included on his second LP "La gira triunfal por Latinoamérica de los TNT", whose publication in 1961 coincided with his performances in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
