LOS JAVALOYAS - MIS MANOS EN TU CINTURA

Antigua azucarera - Granada
La casa amarilla - Granada

Ancient sugar industry - Granada. My great-grandfather was Belgian, and my great-grandmother French. At late 19th century the sugar beet industry grew up in Granada, (read the history here) and expertized people was needed there. My great-grandfather, Arthur Baeyens, was chemist, and the inventor of how extract alcohol from the sugar beet. Then he came to Granada in 1889, and build the "Yellow House" (link), today an experimental station. Mi grandmother, María Baeyens Guilmäin, told me a lot of stories. One of them very, very curious in the next post.
